Declan Devine settles on his Bohemians backroom staff

Gary Cronin has been confirmed as Bohemians assistant manager.

And club stalwarts Derek Pender and Trevor Croly will also be staying on, although Croly will take on an academy role.

Pender will be Declan Devine’s first-teach coach as the Gypsies look to bounce back to form next year after a miserable season.

Bohemians are moving to morning training sessions and a full-time set-up next season and Croly’s day job means he could not stay in the same first-team role.

As expected, Cronin is the new assistant and makes the move having stepped down as Longford Town manager. He was Bray Wanderers boss before that.

Cronin said: “I’m really looking forward to joining a club that will be operating in a proper full-time environment.

“It’s something that I‘ve always wanted to do, and I can’t wait to get started. It’s a fresh start for the club. Declan has come in and I’m really impressed about his plans for what he wants to do.”

Gypsies boss Devine is delighted with the appointment and said: “I’ve watched Gary’s progress as a coach and manager from afar and I’ve been really impressed.”

And Devine added: “It was really important to keep Derek Pender at the club too. This club means absolutely everything to him.

“I’m also delighted that Trevor has committed to staying. He’ll be an incredible addition to our academy structure and develop and bring players through to the first team.”
