Aaj Ka AQI is a new show aimed at fixing accountability for a solution to India’s air crisis. In the second episode, Newslaundry went to Delhi Chief Minister Atishi Singh’s residence at Mathura Road on Wednesday.
The AQI at the nearest air monitoring station hovered around 342, or the ‘very poor’ category. The air detector showed the PM 2.5 level at 239 and PM 10 at 276 despite the fact that Delhi received light rain on Tuesday for several minutes, following which GRAP IV curbs were lifted.
In this episode, we look at why PM 2.5 and PM 10 are harmful, as well as the Aam Aadmi Party’s track record on air pollution.
