Aaj Ka AQI is a new show aimed at fixing accountability for a solution to India’s air crisis. For the first episode, Newslaundry went to Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav’s home in Delhi’s Lutyens zone on Tuesday.
The AQI at the nearest air monitoring station hovered around 413, or the ‘severe’ category. The air detector showed the PM 2.5 level at 256 and PM 10 at 295 despite the area’s tree cover and regular water sprinklers.
We look at the minister’s record in mitigating the challenge.
