Debra Messing and model Eliad Cohen have joined forces to raise awareness about the Israeli hostages held captive in Gaza by Hamas. Last fall in New York City, Messing and Cohen, along with other Jewish celebrities, gathered to shed light on the devastating terrorist attacks that occurred on October 7, 2023, in Israel. These attacks resulted in numerous casualties and nearly 200 individuals being kidnapped.
The group took to the streets of Manhattan to hang posters featuring the faces of those who were abducted, including 78-year-old Margalit Moses. Cohen emotionally shared his perspective, emphasizing the fear and uncertainty faced by the victims and their families.
Despite his efforts to raise awareness, Cohen has also faced an increase in anti-Semitism on social media. With a substantial following on Instagram, he has chosen to combat hate with love, advocating for unity and understanding.
As a former member of the Israeli Defense Forces and a prominent figure in the LGBTQIA+ community, Cohen is dedicated to spreading a message of love and compassion. He emphasizes the importance of supporting both Israelis and Palestinians without fostering hatred towards either side.
Cohen recently released a single titled 'In Common,' featuring pop songstress Nikki Valentine. The song, a cover of Alicia Keys' hit, conveys a message of shared humanity and imperfection, highlighting the commonalities that unite us all.
Through his music and social media presence, Cohen continues to advocate for peace and understanding in the midst of ongoing sociopolitical tensions in the Middle East. His commitment to spreading love and unity serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of empathy and compassion in times of conflict.
