Campaigner and podcast host, Dame Deborah James, showed defiance against her terminal cancer diagnosis as she got dressed up to watch the opera with her husband at her "favourite place". She then shared a heartbreaking comparison from five years ago.
The 40-year-old broadcaster, who is also known as Bowel Babe, went to watch La Boheme in Glyndebourne, Sussex with her husband, Sebastian, in a beautiful silver dress and a matching shawl. The mum-of-two then shared a picture from when she attended a similar event at the venue five years ago.

In an Instagram story, she wrote that the previous picture had been photographed in 2017 with the caption: "Seb still looking dapper in his black tie!"
Later on Sunday, she then shared a couple of photos of the recent event she attended. Alongside the photos, she wrote: "Another day, brings another excuse to spend half of it exhausting myself getting dressed up to go to one of my favourite places!... But totally worth it.
"I can't believe I was last here 5 years ago this week - scared, newly diagnosed, just trying to do the same as I'm doing now - taking things one day at a time!
"Anyone that's followed me for years knows that the British season is my favourite time of the year hence why all my [inthestyle] dresses are named after event!! So I figured my aim is just to try to fit in a few whilst I'm still kicking around and am able to!
"But be under no illusion, I'm knackered! I've worked out it takes me longer to get ready and organised to go than the time I actually last anywhere!
"Getting dressed is tiring, getting meds organised is tiring, the extra moving, the travel, the wondering what mood your stomach is in -it's all real. But then the feeling of making it to something you didn't think possible, having put make up on, donning new shoes... with the sunshine smiling - well then it's all worth it!"
She was made a Dame last month for her monumental efforts to raise cancer awareness. Since starting her journey, Deborah has raised more than £6million for charity and touched hearts across the globe with her story.
She is a tireless campaigner with her latest plan aimed at getting loo roll companies putting bowel cancer signs on their packaging. In news which shocked her friends, the podcast host revealed she was receiving end of life care last month.
But Deborah has once again defied all odds and outlived doctors' expectations. Admitting she was living off sheer "adrenaline", the star continues to inspire her family, friends and fans on a daily basis.
