Debbie McGee's £3m home she shared with late Paul Daniels in risk of being destroyed

Debbie McGee 's £3million house is in jeopardy as a nearby river has burst its banks.

The star's property in Henley-on-Thames, Oxon has become the latest house belonging to a public figure to be hit by the floods.

It is not the first time it has been deluged after similar problems back in February 2022.

Debbie shared the home with her late husband Paul Daniels before he passed away in 2016.

64-year-old Debbie worked as magician Paul's assistant for years, after the pair first met in 1979 when she performed onstage with him at the Britannia Pier Theatre in Greater Yarmouth.

Daniels died aged 77 after he was told he had an incurable brain tumour.

Speaking after her husband's death said the couple had enjoyed the marriage that "everyone dreams of".

She told the BBC : "Our life has been full of laughter and that's what it has been the last few weeks - up until the last 48 hours when he slipped into a sleep."

The former ballet dancer said that she never let husband see her cry when he was diagnosed and vowed to make his last says the best possible.

She said: "I said to myself: 'OK, what would he do in this situation?' And I said: 'OK, let's go and find out from the doctors what we're going to do', and then 'whatever time he's got left I'm going to make it the best time possible'.

"And that's what I did - he never saw me cry. I smiled, I put my make up on and did my hair every day. I got him home and I looked after him for about ten days on my own.

"So we sat out here because the weather's been a lot like this. His favourite ice cream was Magnums - we had a lot of Magnums sitting out here. We went in and watched Bradley Walsh on The Chase every day at 5pm because Paul and I love Bradley, and that made us laugh every day."

Debbie has said that being in the public eye has helped her grieve due to getting support from strangers.

Speaking to Loose Women star Coleen Nolan on Reach’s Let’s Talk About Grief podcast, Debbie said: " People said to me, 'What’s it like being in the public eye and going through it? It must be awful'. And I said, 'No, it’s the opposite'.

"When you’re somebody who nobody knows, you walk around with your grief inside and they don’t know why you’re being grumpy or sad. But when you’re in the public eye, they know what you’re going through.

"People weren’t intrusive, but particularly women would just come up to me and give me a hug and walk away. They didn’t say anything and it meant so much."
