Death Row killer delivers chilling final speech to wife moments before execution

A deadly death row killer delivered a haunting final speech to his wife moments before he was executed for murdering his mother. Prior to his death by lethal injection, Tracy Beatty, 61, confessed to his wife in attendance that he loved her and didn't want to leave her, reports the Mirror.

Beatty was sentenced to the death penalty after strangling his own mother, Carolyn Click, at her Texas home after a heated exchange between the two in 2003. Authorities stated that after killing her the murderer buried the 62-year-old's body beside her mobile home.

Beatty then proceeded to spend his murdered mother's money on drugs and alcohol. For his abhorrent crimes, the killer has waited 19 years on death row for his punishment.

There were late pleas from his lawyers to the US Supreme Court that his history of mental illness should be grounds not to kill him. They asked for a reduced punishment or a six month reprieve over claims that proper mental health evaluations hadn’t been carried out.

However, the lawyers pleas were thrown out by the Supreme Court and the execution went ahead as planned on Wednesday. Prior to his lethal dose, KLTV reported that Betty's final words were: “Yes I just want to thank – I don’t want to leave you baby, see you when you get there. I love you.

“Thank you to all my brothers back on the unit for all the encouragement to help get my life right. Sunny, Blue I love you brothers.

"See you on the other side.”

After his speech, the 61-year-old, was executed at the state penitentiary in Huntsville, Texas, and was pronounced dead at 6:39pm local time - 17 minutes after being injected.
