Death of Scots man in suburban home 'not suspicious' after huge emergency response

A man who died in an Aberdeen suburb on Friday is not believed to have passed away in suspicious circumstances, police say.

Sister site Aberdeen Live reports that multiple police officers and crews from both the Scottish Ambulance Service and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended a property on Abbotshall Terrace in Cults on December 16. There, they found a 54-year-old man, who was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Tragically, he died shortly thereafter. Officers say they were called out to the address following a report of "concern for a person", adding that a report on the death will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said there did not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

The spokesperson said: "At around 2pm on Friday, December 16, we were called to a report of a concern for person at an address in Abbotshall Terrace, Aberdeen.

"A 54-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary but he died a short time later.

"There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
