(Bill) Bill Potts, born and brought up in Low Fell, Gateshead, and member of Gateshead Rugby Club died after a brave and valiant fight against cancer on 12th November in Surrey. He leaves a wife, Suzanne and adored and cherished daughters Alexandra and Georgia. He was very close to his brothers Andrew, who lives in Low Fell, and Michael who have been by his side throughout. A proud Geordie who never forgot his roots, with both daughters graduating from Newcastle University. Bill moved to London to join the Home Office in 1972 and had a successful career, respected by all who knew him. An outstanding athlete, he represented South London Harriers in the 400 metres. He was an avid reader, enjoyed watching rugby, gardening and fell walking in the Lake District.

(OUSTON) On Friday 4th November 2022, Joseph William (Bill), aged 90, passed away in University Hospital Durham. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Iris and his two sons Geoffrey and Ian. He was born on April 13th 1932 in Grange Villa and grew up in Chester-le-Street. Known as Joe Robinson in his formative years, he played for a number of football teams including South Shields, Newcastle United, West Stanley and Hartlepool. He worked as a builder and went on to have a long and respected career as an estates manager for the NHS in County Durham. Bill will be sadly missed by his loving family and friends.
