Death notices and funeral announcements in The Chronicle Newcastle from February 17 to February 23

Announcing the passing of a loved one in local news media is a long standing tradition and we are proud of the trust placed in us to make these important announcements. Every notice published to our newspaper and news site also appears on funeral-notices.co.uk - the UK’s number one site for death notices and memoriams.

Every notice remains online forever providing friends and families with a lifelong tribute to their loved one, a safe place online to share memories, add tributes, photographs and make donations in memory.

Each week we pay tribute to the loved ones remembered in our area with a funeral notice and online tribute page. To read the latest announcements and add tributes to those from our area who have passed away, click here.

Here are a selection of notices published earlier this week.

Lewis DONATHY

Special memories of our Son and Brother born sleeping 21 years ago today. If we could visit Heaven even for a day, Maybe for a moment the pain would go away. June ROBINSON (Cunningham)

(Cunningham) (Wallsend) June my little bride. You are a guest in thought, once a day and sometimes more, you knock upon my daydream door and I say warmly come right in, I'm glad you are here with me again, then we sit down and have a chat, recalling this discussing that, until some task that I must do, forces me away from you, reluctantly I say goodbye, smiling with a little sigh, for though my daydreams bring you near, I wish that you were really here, but what really can't change my dreams and wishes can arrange and through my wishing you will be brought to me each day, a guest in thought. Your loving husband Ted, children Jackie, Paul and Grahame, grandchildren and niece Stacey.

Treasured birthday memories of a husband, dad and grandad. I miss the strength you brought to me, the comfort that it gave and on your birthday it's so hard pretending to be brave. I've found a hidden courage, it helps to see me through, it guides me and protects me, I know it comes from you. So I shall spend your birthday dreaming that you're here, helping me to wipe away every single tear. I will love and miss you Jacky, Always and forever, Your Joyce.

Margery TWEDDLE MITCHELL

(Wallsend) The Mitchell family would like to thank their extended family, their friends, members and colleagues, for their great support during Margery's five year struggle with Alzheimer's. Also wish to thank R.S. Scott Funeral Directors for their very professional and dedicated services, being especially caring and supportive when Margery was in their sole care. Thanks are also due to Rev. Sue McCormack and her team for giving spiritual guidance and supporting a very moving cremation service and an uplifting memorial service at St. Mary's Church. The generosity of those attending was much appreciated with £350.00 donated to The Alzheimer's Society, and £400.00 to St. Mary's Church. Finally thanks to Charlton Court Care Home, Battlehill. Management and staff did their utmost for Margery. She entered fearful and afraid, but within a couple of weeks the professionalism of all the staff started to bring back the real Margery to us. Her cheeky smile, infectious laugh and happy countenance slowly returned. They were also very supportive of George and indeed made it possible to hold her hand until the very end.
