DeAndre Hopkins literally quoted himself in a tweet to indicate he doesn’t want a new contract

Arizona Cardinals DeAndre Hopkins has been the focus point of a possible trade this NFL offseason, and he seems to be trying to dispel any idea that he wants a contract bump this spring.

Hopkins tweeted on Sunday that he does not have any interest in a raise this season, going so far as to draw up a quote of him saying that and immediately attributing it to his nickname “Nuk” at the end of the post.

Posting “‘Hopkins doesn’t want a raise’ – Nuk” is a very direct way of Hopkins telling the rest of the NFL that he’ll be happy to join their franchise on his current deal.

Now, nobody knows for sure if the Cardinals would entertain the idea of trading Hopkins and what the possible compensation would be.

However, in an interview this weekend, Hopkins seemed to, at least jokingly, hint that the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills were on his radar.

With the 2023 NFL Draft right around the corner, we’ll see if Hopkins actually moves on from Arizona to his third NFL team via a trade.

At the very least, we have a pretty good idea now that a possible trade won’t be hampered by any concerns of Hopkins wanting a raise from his new team.
