Dean Henderson wants Nottingham Forest transfer as he prepares to leave Manchester United

Dean Henderson would 'very much like' to sign for Nottingham Forest next season after Premier League status was secured for another season.

That is according to BT Sport and BBC Radio Five Live broadcaster Darren Fletcher, who joined players in celebrating survival after the 1-0 win over Arsenal on Saturday.

Henderson was at the City Ground as he was spotted nervously counting down the minutes to the final whistle. He has not played since January after suffering a thigh injury against Leicester City. Nonetheless he has been fully invested in Forest, despite being on loan from Manchester United.

"He was in The Parlour at 2am on the same crutches! He decided to stay for the night with his team-mates," Fletcher told the Garibaldi Red podcast.

"He'd very much like to be a Forest player next season. If he can have his wish next season that's what he'd like to do."

Forest are understood to be keen to bring Henderson back with the Manchester Evenining News reporting a £30m deal could be done.

They say they have already indicated what salary they would pay Henderson, who impressed in his 18 appearances despite missing out on a place in England's World Cup squad.

Forest finished the season with three time Champions League winner Keylor Navas in goal after owner Evangelos Marinakis financed a deal for the Paris Saint Germain keeper. However, the 36-year-old is set to return to the French giants this summer.

He could also miss the final game of the season after hobbling out of the final moments of the Arsenal game, with Wayne Hennessey in line to play against Crystal Palace.
