Dean Henderson sent Man Utd message after David De Gea question

Manchester United supporters have been full of praise for David de Gea and the way their goalkeeper handled a question asking about comments made by Nottingham Forest loanee Dean Henderson.

The one-cap England international, who could be in line for a recall this afternoon by Gareth Southgate in the absence of Jordan Pickford through injury, said over the summer that he was left "fuming" after wasting a year of his career as he claims that "nobody followed through" on conversations after the European Championship that Henderson would become the number one at Old Trafford, conduct the 'keeper described as "criminal". Asked about these remarks, the club's first choice between the posts De Gea refused to be drawn on them.

Finlay: Not commenting on DDG's skills or lack of them, but the difference is that he goes about things with a great deal of humility. During last year's disaster, he was one of the few who stood up with a degree of responsibility.
