Dean Henderson's Nottingham Forest decision revealed after Erik ten Hag proposal

Dean Henderson is expected to return to Nottingham Forest in three weeks, as he nears a return from a thigh injury.

Henderson, who joined Forest on a season-long loan, has been out of action since January, after scans revealed he suffered a grade two tear in his thigh. He had returned to his parent club Manchester United to continue his rehabilitation.

Forest then recruited Keylor Navas from Paris Saint-Germain, also on a loan basis to help in their fight for Premier League survival. The Athletic report that Henderson is set to return to the City Ground and should be handed game time by Steve Cooper, providing more competition for Navas.

Prior to his decision, United boss Erik ten Hag is claimed to have made a proposal to Henderson to spend the second half of the season at Old Trafford. However, the 26-year-old opted for a return to Trentside.

Although ten Hag has not ruled out trying Henderson in pre-season, he has been subject of transfer interest which could lead United to cash in. Two unnamed clubs have made an enquiry over a permanent transfer.
