Henderson closing in on Newcastle move
Nearly four months on from being denied the chance to move to Newcastle, Dean Henderson looks as though he may get his wish. It’s been a frustrating season for the goalkeeper, who has been desperate to get more game time under his belt.
The 25-year-old had looked as though he could be in line to replace David de Gea as United’s number one last season. Injury and Covid saw him miss the start of the current campaign though, and enabled De Gea to not only win back his spot, but cement his place with a number of impressive displays.

Henderson’s attempts to head out on loan in January ultimately fell through, meaning he has been restricted to just three appearances in the 2021/22 campaign. He looks set to get more game time next season as he closes in on a move to St James’ Park.
Ten Hag arrives in England for talks
Erik ten Hag wasted no time in getting down to work on his plans for next season, turning his attentions towards United immediately after completing Ajax’s season last weekend. The Dutchman’s work looks set to step up now after arriving in England.
Ten Hag has made his way over with Mitchell van der Gaag, with a deal now in place to confirm him as the 52-year-old’s assistant for the new season. The pair have already signed off from their duties at Ajax, having opted out of a post-season trip to Curacao.
Having been working remotely since the start of the week, they are set to work more closely with United staff over the next couple of days. They are also set to head to Selhurst Park on Sunday as United close out their season against Crystal Palace.
