Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper eased any injury fears over goalkeeper Dean Henderson being substituted in Nottingham Forest’s pre-season friendly draw at Barnsley.

The Manchester United loanee looked a little uncomfortable as he went to take a kick in the first half of the 0-0 draw at Oakwell. And he was replaced soon after by fellow new arrival Wayne Hennessey.

The latter only put pen to paper on Friday, joining the Reds on a two-year deal. But he replaced his fellow summer signing with barely half an hour played against the Tykes.

Nottingham Forest Djed Spence revelation

Middlesbrough manager Chris Wilder has revealed that Nottingham Forest did not pursue a permanent move for loanee Djed Spence this summer.

The wing-back made a big impact at the City Ground last season, after joining on a season-long loan from Boro. He played a big part in the club’s promotion back to the Premier League after 23 years away.

His performances caught the eye of Premier League teams, with Tottenham making their move this summer. It was thought that the Reds had joined Spurs in the race, but it seems that was not the case.

Double transfer hint

Nottingham Forest have been given a double hint over movement on two possible summer transfers.

The Reds have been heavily linked with Huddersfield pair Lewis O’Brien and Harry Toffolo as Steve Cooper prepares his team for a first Premier League campaign in 23 years.

Reports this week claimed Forest were ready to launch a double bid of £10m to £12m for the Terriers duo. - with Toffolo valued at around £2.5m by Forest due to his being in the final year of his contract, with O’Brien rated in the region of £10m.

Forest given transfer hope

New Burnley manager Vincent Kompany has admitted that 'good offers have been made' for attacker Maxwel Cornet this summer amid reported interest from Nottingham Forest.

Premier League rivals Everton and Newcastle United have also been credited with an interest and the former, in particular, has been heavily linked. The Ivory Coast international has a release clause in his contract, which is active in this transfer window following Burnley's relegation to the Championship .
