Nine people were killed and over 700 houses were burned down in an attack on the village of Nzoroh in northern Central African Republic. Rebels from the 3R militia, formed during the civil war, claimed responsibility for the attack citing a dispute over the theft of oxen.

The mayor of Nzoroh expressed shock at the violence, stating that the rebels have shown a disregard for human life and accused the government of inaction in protecting the citizens.

The central government has expressed deep concern over the incident and pledged to issue a response. The exact number of wounded individuals is yet to be determined.

The attack has left the local population in a state of shock, with many fleeing to nearby villages for safety. The Red Cross in Ngaoundaye is providing assistance to those affected.
