Amazon Prime customers will soon see their monthly and annual subscription prices rise. Amazon has said it's the first rise in the UK since 2014 but the hike will be a blow for many following the cost of living crisis.
Britons may now be looking to cancel their streaming subscription because of the £1 monthly increase which Amazon says is due to "increased inflation and operating costs." It comes after other services like Netflix have also increased subscription prices due to increasing costs.
Amazon Prime offers customers Amazon Music, Video and unlimited free delivery and next-day deliver on thousands of products. It also holds special sale days for Prime customers only, like Amazon Prime Day.

Those who may now want to cancel their subscription still have time to benefit from the cheaper price though. Amazon has said that the new price change won't come into effect until September.
Monthly subscriptions will go up £1 to £8.99 and annual membership will increase from £79 to £95, from September, or at the customer's next membership renewal date. Those who don't wish to pay the increased bill can either switch to an annual plan or cancel their membership - but there are other options too.
If you are new to Amazon Prime and were thinking of getting but have now been put off by the increase, you can actually try it out before you buy with their 30-day free trial. After your trial the price will be £8.99 but you can cancel at anytime during the 30-day trial if you decide it's not for you, find out more and sign up here.
New customers with O2 can actually choose to have six months of Amazon Prime for free with some of the deals and tariffs on offer. For example, this O2 SIM deal for £15 gives customers six months free of the Prime service. Some handset deals also offer the same too.
Amazon also has a service called Amazon Household that lets Prime users share their benefits with one other adult in the household. That includes access to TV shows and movies via Prime Video, free delivery and more.
Users who use Amazon Household can also manage parental control for children's devices and share digital content such as apps, games and books with other Amazon devices.
Sign up for the service can be done by heading to Amazon Household and signing up another adult. Then they will be able to cancel their subscription and save your household some money.
