Dead Longhorn Found at Oklahoma State Frat House Ahead of Big 12 Title Game vs. Texas

The showdown between Oklahoma State and Texas in Saturday’s Big 12 championship game is generating plenty of animosity, but someone supporting the Cowboys appears to have taken things too far.

Police in Stillwater, Okla., told multiple media outlets Friday that they found a longhorn steer with its stomach sliced open outside Oklahoma State’s FarmHouse fraternity early the same morning.

“This is a very unusual situation that’s occurred,” Stillwater Police Department spokesperson TJ Low told The Oklahoman. “We’ve never had anything like this within our jurisdiction. It’s a very cruel crime to be committed, especially right before the Big 12 championship. Nothing is worth doing that kind of crap.”

Oklahoma State quickly moved to condemn the act in a statement, writing that the university was “appalled at the disturbing display of animal cruelty that occurred overnight at an off-campus location near a fraternity house.”

The Cowboys (9–3) and Longhorns (11–1) are scheduled to play Saturday at noon ET at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
