Former seventh-round pick Isaiah Thomas is signing with the Cincinnati Bengals’ practice squad instead of with the Cleveland Browns.
Thomas spent his first three seasons with the Browns before being released on cut-day. Thomas played in ten games during his tenure in Cleveland. Last year, he spent the entire season on the practice squad.
Thomas probably left for Cincinnati after struggling to make a game-day roster on the Browns. The Browns have a lot of talented players on the defensive ends. Thomas is a promising player who could play on Sundays rather than practicing all week. He recorded nine tackles and one sack in ten games during the 2022 season. The one sack was against the Bengals and their former first-round pick Jonah Williams.
Thomas will likely be promoted to the Bengals’ gameday roster to start the season. The Bengals added Myles Murphy to their injured reserve list to start the season. The Browns will face the Bengals on October 20th in Cleveland.
