Bayern Munich defender Dayot Upamecano has revealed how he would go about defending against Arsenal legend Thierry Henry amid previous links with the Gunners.
The French centre-back was previously linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium during his RB Leipzig days before sealing a switch to the Allianz Arena at the start of this season.
The 23-year-old has struggled to replicate the impressive form that he showed for Leipzig but has still gone on to make 25 appearances in all competitions for the German giants.
Ahead of Bayern’s return to Champions League action - ironically against another of Upamecano’s former sides in the form of Red Bull Salzburg - the defender was asked to assemble a five-a-side team of former French internationals.
Alongside the regular names of Zinedine Zidane and Lilian Thuram, the defender also picked Arsenal icon Thierry Henry.
However, instead of complimenting the former forward, Upamecano instead revealed how he would go about stopping him from finding the back of the net.
Speaking with UEFA, he said: “I would have tried to stop him from cutting inside because he was very good at that.
“So, yes I would’ve tried to force him onto his left foot, even though his left foot was pretty good, too.
“You’re better off forcing him to use his weaker foot than letting him use his strong one.”
Of course, there were not many defenders - none least Upamecano - who were capable of halting Henry when he was in full flow.
During his time with the Gunners, he scored on 226 occasions before departing for Barcelona.
