The Raiders have a need on their offensive line. They need to improve their right guard spot, but could also use more depth at offensive tackle. Luckily, this is a strong offensive line class, especially on Day 2 of the NFL Draft.
With the Raiders unlikely to take an offensive lineman at No. 7, it seems more probable that they will wait until Day 2 of the draft to address that need. The good news is that there should be a ton of options available for them in both the second and third rounds.
Here is a list of the top interior offensive lineman that should be available on Day 2 of the 2023 NFL Draft and their overall ranking on the big board via Dane Brugler of The Athletic:
O’Cyrus Torrence (Florida) – No. 37
Joe Tippmann (Wisconsin) – No. 43
Steve Avila (TCU) – No. 40
Cody Mauch (North Dakota State) – No. 45
John Michael Schmitz (Minnesota) – No. 59
Chander Zavala (North Carolina State) – No. 77
Anthony Bradford (LSU) – No. 101
This list doesn’t include several offensive tackle prospects, such as Matthew Bergeron, who could potentially play guard in the NFL. There are a lot of quality options that will be available to the Raiders on Day 2, as long as they are patient enough to wait that long.
If the Raiders are dead set on finding multiple starters in this year’s draft, they would be wise to select a cornerback in Round 1 and circle back to the interior offensive line on Friday. The depth and talent of this class should work out well for Las Vegas.
