South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley attended Saturday’s football game vs. Mississippi State to show support for her fellow Gamecocks.
Staley even took a spot on the South Carolina sidelines to be fully immersed with the team during the game.
On the Gamecocks’ first drive of the game, quarterback Spencer Rattler threw a pass to receiver Xavier Legette, who went 76 yards for a touchdown.
During the electric moment, Staley could be seen on the broadcast doing a windmill move to pull Legette into the end zone. Fans were loving how hyped the two-time NCAA tournament winning coach was for her school.
South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer reposted the video of Staley on X, formerly known as Twitter, and expressed his gratitude for the camaraderie.
“I see ya @dawnstaley !!!” Beamer wrote. “Appreciate you.”

Staley can be seen on the sidelines in a blue jersey with the No. 17 on it, which is coincidentally is Legette’s number. It’s unknown what Staley’s jersey was for, although some fans wondered if it had ties to the Eagles in some fashion, as the Philadelphia-born coach has been known to sport her favorite NFL team.
The Gamecocks went on to win 37–30 to move to 2–2 on the season.
