Davina McCall sticks two fingers up to menopause and tells critics 'educate yourselves'

Davina McCall has shared a defiant message about her menopause journey and said she will "keep talking".

The former Big Brother host, 55, shared a lengthy video to discuss the different reactions she's had to sharing her choice of treatment to ease the transitional period.

Davina urged people to "educate yourself" about the different choices around treatment as she wrapped herself in a bedsheet in the clip, which she posted to her Instagram.

She began by praising the 'meno-warriors' amongst her followers and asked for respect when discussing treatment options.

Speaking to the camera the TV star began: "Yo, so I just wanted to say hi after menopause awareness month, its been a busy old month for the meno-warriors respect to the menopause warriors!'"

Davina then revealed she wanted to 'shed light' and will continue to post about her journey and share tips from Dr Naomi Potter, who specialises in menopause care.

She then discussed the comments on her posts as she said: "I'm just going to keep talking on here because I've noticed it's nice, sometimes, the conversations that happen between you in the comments section and how nice it is to see you all looking out for each other.

"And in the same respect I think it's really important to not disrespect people that share in my feeds because everybody's entitled to an opinion. I really, really try and keep my posts über positive and inclusive because, just because my path works for me it wouldn't work for everybody else and for some people it can't work."

Davina then insisted she wanted her discussions around the topic to 'be inclusive'.

She addressed her followers as she added: "If you are going to talk about your journey, try not to do it at the same time as shaming people that aren't following your journey."

The TV star then told her followers to "go and educate yourself with the correct information" no matter what people have chosen in their menopause journey and pointed to her book, Menopausing: The Positive Roadmap to Your Second Spring.

As she ended the video, Davina said: "Let's be nice to each other, is what I'm trying to say. It's hard enough as it is, right? Being peri-menopausal or menopausal is quite hard. Let's been really nice to each other and uber respectful and come together to say, 'up yours, f**k you menopause'," as she put two fingers up to the camera.

Davina joked the video was 'another scantily clad post' (davinamccall/Instagram)

She continued: "We're gonna join forces and be boss b***hes and be amazing."

Davina then posted the video and added in the caption: "F**k you menopause “.. another scantily clad post from me .. it’s about us coming together .. and respecting other women’s choices . Tomorrow I will post a short one . I promise. What do u want to talk or know about ? #menopausing ".

The Long Lost Family host was soon flooded with praise in the comments as one said: "Yes Davina...you are a wonderful being. Not just for this work, I've been watching you for a good few decades now, and I've decided it's time for me to tell you that you are a shiny, shiny".

Another added: "You are doing an amazing job providing the information for women so that they can make informed choices. No one size fits all they can find their own path and what works for them."

"Davina thank you for all your hard work in educating women about menopause and HRT," a third penned.
