Davina McCall has championed Rylan Clark to get the job of Big Brother host, after ruling herself out of a return to the show she hosted for years.
Big Brother fans were left delighted when ITV shocked everyone by confirming it was bringing the show back, revealing all during this year's Love Island final to great excitement. As soon as the cat was out of the bag, speculation started on who would be asked to present the new series, which is set to take place next year.
Davina was Big Brother's original host, back when the then unknown programme made its debut on Channel 4 in the summer of 2000, with its first run being won by Craig Phillips. Davina stayed with the show for a decade, hosting it whilst pregnant on three separate occasion, as the show made stars out of contestants like the late Jade Goody and winners like Kate Lawler, Anthony Hutton and now This Morning host Josie Gibson.
Another champion was Brian Dowling, who then went onto host the show, with Emma Willis then picking up the baton to host the majority of Big Brother's series, once it made the switch to Channel 5.
Emma seemingly shut down talk of her being host once again, saying she'd 'said goodbye' to the show and, appearing as a guest on Thursday's This Morning, Davina claimed she wasn't in the mix either, exclaiming: "Can you believe we still don't know who the presenter is?"
Speaking to presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, she discussed who could do the job, mentioning both Rylan and Strictly star AJ Odudu, remarking: "Or are they going to go for someone really edgy and like, unheard of?"
She continued: "It has to be a fan! Me and Rylan would be so upset if it wasn't," to which Holly replied: "Rylan loves that show, I mean he is Big Brother."
Davina then added: "He hasn't missed one episode...ever on any channel. He's amazing."
