Davina McCall said she heard a lot about Big Brother returning but "it went really quiet."
After mounting reports the reality competition show will be returning, this time with a new home on ITV2, rumours of the new series have run rampant. Big Brother and ITV producers both refuse to comment on the subject but it hasn't stopped fans from speculating on who will host the revival along with a possible air date.
Television presenter Davina McCall acted as the face of Big Brother for ten years and is still synonymous with the series to this day. Her replacement was All Star winner Brian Dowling followed by presenter Emma Willis as the show moved to Channel 5 in 2011. In a conversation with Metro, Davina spoke on the revival rumours along with what the show would need to do to avoid another axing.

She said: "There have been so many rumours in the past so I’m not even thinking about it but, I do feel like with a few tweaks it can come back. It would be good. I don’t even know – maybe if they did a one off. I feel like we’re pining after it but at the same time, we’ve seen other shows come back and be reborn out of a sense of nostalgia and they haven’t worked like, I don’t know, have we left it too long? Have we said goodbye? Does it feel dated? There are so many questions.
"But, it’s an amazing format, isn’t it? I literally have no idea. I’ve heard loads about it and then it went really quiet." As it stands, the bookies have already banked on Davina being most likely to take on the show's hosting duties. When asked who would be suited for the job other than herself, she said: "Obviously Emma [Willis] and Rylan [Clark], they love that show.
"Rylan’s obsessive and has been since day one and Emma became the queen of Big Brother on Channel 5 so either of those – but it would be nice to see old housemates back."
