Davies hails 'massive' Rangers and reveals long-term Ibrox ambition as he's quizzed on Celtic link

Davies hails 'massive' Rangers and reveals long-term Ibrox ambition as he's quizzed on Celtic link

BEN DAVIES has revealed he's hopeful of making his spell at Rangers the best of his career as he explained his long-term Ibrox ambitions.

The centre-back joined Rangers on a four-year deal from Liverpool and is desperate to impress and make Glasgow his home after signing on under Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

He told Sky Sports: "The contract I've signed here enables me to make this a home and I want to look back at this as the best period of my career.

"I feel like I've still got a lot to give, I've got many more years to come.

"I want to really get settled here, feel comfortable here and show everyone what I can do week in week out."

Davies' move to Glasgow was confirmed last week with the defender making the move from the Premier League club to Ibrox.

But, had things been different, he could've been in Scotland after serious Celtic interest before his move to Liverpool.

Davies, 26, was quizzed on the transfer links with Celtic before heading to Anfield, but insisted he has no regret over his decision to join Liverpool or now Rangers.

"There were clubs interested in the time before I went to Liverpool," said Davies.

"I've been quite fortunate there have been clubs interested quite a lot throughout my career but I decided to go to Liverpool and I was happy with that decision.

"Now I'm delighted to be at Rangers. You know, football is football, I am happy to be here and I am looking forward to attacking it."

And Davies is excited to get to work at Ibrox as he opened up on his desire to play for a club with such high demands and fanatical support.

He added: "It's a massive football club, massive history, massive fan base. Not only the fan base but like the fanatical, it's everything to the people here and the staff so that was something that I wanted to experience and be a part of.

"I think the ambitions of the club are massive every single year; want to win every game and win everything they play in.

"It's a different experience and environment and I'm looking forward to it."
