David Wilson's Crime Files on hunt for Scots victims of romance fraud for new series

David Wilson's Crime Files is set to return to BBC Scotland and Professor David Wilson is looking for victims of romance fraud to feature on the show.

Turf TV shared the casting requirements on their social media on Thursday.

The casting call reads: "Burned on Bumble? Conned by a catfish? Texted by a Tinder swindler?

"BBC Scotland's Crime Files is back, and this time Professor David Wilson will be analysing Scotland's biggest fraud cases. We are looking for people who've been a victim of romance fraud to share their stories.

"To find out more, please get in touch for a confidential chat. Drop us an email at crimefiles@tvtern.com.

"Contacting us does not oblige you to take part in the series, all information will be kept completely confidential until express permission is given to feature on the programme."

It comes as series three examined various cold cases including mysterious deaths, the importance forensic play in solving cases and whether scientific advancements could be the key to solving decades-old cold cases.

One episode saw David Wilson joined in the studio by resident Forensic Scientist Helen Meadows who dissects the murder of Tracey Wylde.

Tracey was a young mum from Glasgow, who also took up sex work during an epidemic of drug crimes and deaths. The mother was murdered in her flat in 1997.

Tracey’s case, like many sex workers before her, went cold but Helen analysed the crucial DNA evidence left behind that eventually led to her killer’s arrest, over 20 years after her death.

It is not yet known when series four will be broadcast.
