David Tennant's wife Georgia shares sweet festive snap after Doctor Who trailer drops

Georgia Tennant shared a sweet festive photo alongside husband David on Christmas Day.

The couple posed in front of their fire place as the Scots actor sported an apron and glasses, looking lovingly at his wife while she smiled. In a second photo, the couple stuck their tongues out in a playful snap with their paper crowns on.

The festive snap of Georgia, 38, and David, 51, comes after the Doctor Who 60th Anniversary teaser trailer saw the actor return to his iconic role, as well as a glimpse of Ncuti Gatwa as the 15th Doctor. The trailer sees David feature as the 14th Doctor in the one-minute snippet with Catherine Tate returning as Donna Noble, in the trilogy of anniversary episodes.

The BBC also revealed Jacqueline King and Karl Collins will reprise their roles as Sylvia Noble and Shaun Temple, while Ruth Madeley joins the cast as Shirley Anne Bingham.

The highly anticipated special sees the Bathgate-born star return to the role, to fight off the mystery villain portrayed by Neil Patrick-Harris. The trailer begins with a view of London at night as the Tardis thrums before landing in an alleyway.

Tate narrates over the scenes: "Sometimes I think there's something missing. Like I had something lovely and it's gone," while Tennant says: "I don't know who I am any more."

He later adds: "I don't believe in destiny but if destiny exists then it is heading for Donna Noble. If she ever remembers she will die."

The mini-series is expected to explain why The Doctor has regenerated, which leads to another regeneration into the 15th Doctor, played by Scots-Rwandan actor Ncuti Gatwa.

The teaser clip features Gatwa sporting a moustache, saying: "Will someone tell me what the hell is going on here?" It also features American guest star Neil Patrick Harris' character declaring: "The show is just beginning. Worldwide premiere."

This month it was announced Coronation Street star Millie Gibson would play Gatwa's on-screen companion Ruby Sunday, who will travel alongside him as they embark on a new set of adventures.
