David Tennant has revealed he was born with six toes after fans shared their theories online.
The Doctor Who star, 53, confirmed he has an extra digit on his right foot as he talked about the rare condition for the first time.
The Scottish actor said it looks “sort of like a nubbin” in an interview with Metro on Monday.
He made the revelation after a group of die-hard sleuths began sharing their speculation on Reddit.
When asked if people knew about his extra toe, the Broadchurch star responded: “Well, they do now. It’s sort of like a nubbin.”
Tennant also opened up about his nerves ahead of hosting the BAFTAs for the second time.
“It’s a lovely thing to be asked to do and it’s a huge privilege, and it’s very giddy-making. But I’ve sort of got a bit of a free pass, because nobody expects me to be any good at it,” the Rivals star said.

“When you’re standing on that stage looking out at all the most famous people in the world, you just think ‘How did I end up doing this?’”
Tennant won over audiences when he helmed the star-studded ceremony in 2024, charming fans with his gag-filled opening monologue.
He is set to take centre-stage at the BAFTAs once again on Sunday 16 February at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in central London.
Academy bosses praised the Scottish actor’s “witty and whip-smart” hosting debut in 2024, which drew in 3.8 million viewers in the UK
“We couldn’t be happier that David Tennant is returning to host the EE BAFTA Film Awards in 2025,” BAFTA CEO Jane Millichip said.
“He is an absolute pleasure to work with, and his performance this year was simply outstanding – warm, witty, whip-smart, and with a delightful touch of mischief.”
Tennant took over hosting duties from Richard E Grant at the 2024 ceremony.
During his witty monologue, the actor made reference to the 2023 blockbuster Barbie - which racked up five nominations on the night.
“Tonight is going to go smoother than Ken’s chest,” he quipped.
The star also joked about artifical intelligence, saying: “I’ve been chatting to BAFTA and asking them if the future for acting and screenwriting is looking rosy, and they say, ‘AYE!’ Did they spell that AI…’”
