David Tennan t and Peter Capaldi are hotly tipped to be returning to Doctor Who as the time travelling sci-fi show looks forward to its 60th anniversary.
Scots actor David, who recently was filming around Scotland for Good Omens 2, and Peter who recently released his music album are said to be lined up for a possible comeback alongside Matt Smith for the big birthday celebrations .
Fans have been talking for some time online about the prospect of current Time Lord Jodie Whittaker returning the role of The Doctor to David, 50, who played the 10th incarnation of the Doctor from 2005 to 2010.
Jodie will leave the much loved series following the broadcast of three special episodes this year.
The show will then air again in 2023, and David, Peter who played the Doctor from 2013 to 2017, and Matt as well as Christopher Eccleston from 2005 could all return.
The chat comes after showrunner and dedicated Doctor Who fan Russell T Davies, 58, returns to the role after being away for some time.
A TV source told The Sun : 'The BBC wanted something unique to mark six decades of Doctor Who and while getting all the former time lords together will be a challenge, it’s one Russell might just achieve.
After all, he was the man responsible for signing up Christopher and David back in 2005, and he is one of the few people who might convince them to be a part of the show again."
