David Seaman tears into Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and wanted former Arsenal star booed

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has found himself on the end of a David Seaman tirade, with the former Arsenal shot-stopper blasting the striker.

The 33-year-old joined Chelsea this summer, under Thomas Tuchel, following the Blues' decision to let Romelu Lukaku leave on loan to Inter Milan. Aubameyang had enjoyed a relatively fruitful start at Barcelona, netting 13 goals in 23 appearances after his contract at the Emirates was terminated.

But the arrival of Robert Lewandowski put Aubameyang's nose out of joint and he immediately sought an exit from the Nou Camp side. Eager to save as much money as possible in their financial turmoil, Barcelona did not stand in his way despite the forward joining exactly seven months earlier.

Tuchel worked with Aubameyang at Borussia Dortmund and took the opportunity to bring him back to the Premier League, knowing he plundered 92 goals at Arsenal. But things haven't gone to plan.

The German coach was fired in August and replaced by Brighton boss Graham Potter. To add to Aubameyang's woes, the striker has only netted three goals in 12 appearances this season. It all came to a head at the weekend when Chelsea lost to Arsenal, the club the striker forced his way out of this year.

The Blues incurred a 1-0 defeat with Aubameyang hooked on 64 minutes, immediately after Gabriel Magalhaes' goal. And former shot-stopper Seaman has now roasted the striker, even declaring how he was gutted the Gabon striker wasn't booed by Gunners fans.

"The Aubameyang situation… his last season at Arsenal is exactly what it’s like now [at Chelsea]," he said on Seaman Says. "The fact that Barcelona let him go tells you everything. I’m not surprised [he is struggling].

"I’m not surprised the way he is playing. That’s what he been like for quite a while now. He does it in flashes, he doesn’t do it for long enough. The only disappointing this about the weekend is that when Arsenal scored, he sneaked off.

"I wanted the Arsenal fans to proper boo him. They didn’t get that chance as he got hooked off straight away as soon as we scored and all the Arsenal fans were too busy celebrating."

To compound his misery on the day, Arsenal defender Gabriel stuck the boot in at full-time. The Gunners star shared a snap of him celebrating past Aubameyang with the caption: "Nothing personal...London is red."

It was a retort to the striker's pre-match promo comments with BT Sport in which he declared he was "ready" and that it was "nothing personal" to face his former side.

Safe to say those comments weren't reciprocated and his ex-team-mate wasted no time firing back. Arsenal sit top of the Premier League while Chelsea are currently languishing in seventh.
