David Schwimmer lookalike's full face revealed

He's the alleged thief that went viral thanks to his uncanny resemblance toFriendsstar, David Schwimmer.

But Lancashire Police have just released a mugshot of the man suspected of stealing from a restaurant and it seems he's just lost all his star qualities, news.com.au reports.

A mugshot of Abdulah Husseini shows the 36-year-old suspected criminal looks nothing like Schwimmer, who played Ross Gellar in the hit sitcom after his full face has been revealed when he failed to appear in court in Blackpool over allegations of theft and fraud.

Naturally, social media users have erupted over the shock twist in the case that captured the world's imagination, with many coming up with hilarious responses.

"He's on a break," one amused Twitter user wrote, referring to the continual fight between Ross and his on-off again girlfriend Rachel in the series.

Others quoted an infamous line from the character: "Ah, humour based on my pain".

In October 2018, a grainy CCTV image of him appearing to carry a crate of beers out of a restaurant made headlines around the world because of his similarity to the TV star.

Blackpool Police posted a photo of the man with the caption: "Do you recognise this man? We want to speak to him in relation to a theft at a Blackpool restaurant on the 20th September."

Within 12 hours, the post had received more than 75,000 comments with the majority of them making jokes about the thief's likeness to the Friends star.

As the posted gained attention, Schwimmer himself even joined the fun, posting a video of himself smuggling goods out of a supermarket in a similar fashion to the thief. "Officers, I swear it wasn't me," he teased:

"I know who he is," wrote Facebook user Jayne Freeman. "He has a son named Ben, loves the taste of wedding cake and he hangs around with some people in a coffee shop. He has a dinosaur fetish. Hope that helps with your inquiries."

"I have just seen him at Blackpool zoo with a monkey on his shoulder," Karen Long wrote in reference to Ross's pet monkey on the hit sitcom, Marcel.

Danny Harrod joked on Facebook that people should give the thief a break.

"Calm down everyone. This bloke could have fallen on hard times. Maybe it hadn't been his week, his month or even his year," he wrote.

One of the best comments came from James Peden who wrote: "If he's jumped in Blackpool sea you'll never catch him. I've heard he's a really good Schwimmer."

Referencing another Friends star, Sam Marshall said: "When questioned he couldn't remember a thing, he drew a LeBlanc."

Blackpool Police had a bit of fun with the comments too.

"Thank you to everyone for your speedy responses. We have investigated this matter thoroughly and have confirmed that David Schwimmer was in America on this date. We're so sorry it has to be this way," the police wrote.

When Lancashire Police arrested Mr Husseini a month later, they thanked their colleagues in the Metropolitan Police Service and the star personally for his help in the case.

The Met Police replied on Twitter, saying: "Happy to help @LancsPolice #IllBeThereForYou," referring to the Friends theme tune.

Sadly though, it seems our doppelgänger dreams have been dashed.
