David Raya conceded that 'every player has goals and wants to improve' when he was quizzed on his long-term future at Brentford. The 27-year-old goalkeeper has been heavily linked with an exit from the Bees after entering the final 18 months of his contract.
He's featured 19 times for Thomas Frank's side in the Premier League this season, recording six clean sheets. His impressive displays for Brentford have not only helped transform the club into a top-10 side but also attract interest from a number of top European outfits.
Raya has recently emerged has as long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris at Tottenham amid fresh doubt over the 36-year-old's future at Hotspur Way. The Frenchman made a costly mistake in the north London derby, handing Arsenal the lead over just quarter-of-an-hour.

Jordan Pickford has also been named as a potential candidate to replace Lloris but, with Everton battling for survival, a move for the Englishman looks increasingly unattractive. Speaking to Spanish outlet AS, Raya said: "Every player has goals and wants to improve.
"Now I am focused on my team and in the summer, we will see what happens. If they want to do business, they will have to do it but there is a long season left and I am only focused on doing it well. In the summer, we will assess my situation."
Amid speculation over the Spain international's future, Frank has insisted that his shot-stopper is happy at Brentford. He said: "I said many times I think he is among the best in the league and he has performed fantastic for us, but he is going nowhere.
"Let’s see. We are interested. I know David is very happy here, but there will be ongoing discussions of course."
With Lloris entering the latter stages of his career, he's been labelled a 'liability' for Tottenham. In a column for the Daily Mail, Chris Sutton wrote: "There can be no disputing Lloris has been a brilliant goalkeeper and there is a real pressure that comes with being the person between the sticks.
"But there can also be no denying he has turned into a liability. The rap sheet is so long that you can go on YouTube and find a video called 'Hugo Lloris worst mistakes', and then you can watch 'Part Two'.
"This history of howlers is why, when he bundled Bukayo Saka’s cross into his own goal yesterday, it was not surprising. It was completely in character. While Aaron Ramsdale made sure Arsenal won — saving, clearing and commanding his way to a clean sheet — Lloris only contributed to Tottenham losing."
