Former Georgia Bulldogs defensive end David Pollack is one of the best players in school history. Pollack was extremely productive throughout his four year career at the University of Georgia.
Pollack is a three-time first-team All-American and All-SEC player (2002-2004). Herschel Walker is Georgia’s only other three-time All-American.
The Snellville, Georgia, product finished his college career with 36 sacks, which would rank third over the past two decades. Pollack is forever paired with quarterback David Greene. The duo helped Georgia turn its program around in the early years of the Mark Richt era.
The Cincinatti Bengals drafted Pollack in the first round of the 2005 NFL draft. Pollack recorded 4.5 sacks as a rookie, but suffered a severe neck injury during the 2006 season and was forced to give up football.
Pollack made the most of his bad luck and went on to serve as a college football analyst. Started working with ESPN’s “College GameDay” in 2011, but was eventually laid off after working with ESPN for over a decade in 2023.
