David Odumosu has all the attributes to front up for St Pat's having played a back seat role up to now.
That’s according to Saints boss Tim Clancy after he yesterday handed the goalkeeper a contract extension for next season.
Odumosu, who played 31 times for Clancy at Drogheda and who has been in recent Ireland U21 squads, was second-choice behind Joseph Anang and then Danny Rogers.

But with Rogers out-of-contract and Anang now at Derby County, Odumosu - who started the last two games of this season - could emerge from their shadows next year.
St Pat’s boss Clancy said: "We’re very happy to get David tied down to a new contract.
“He signed for us just before the first game of last season against Shelbourne and worked very closely with goalkeeping coach Pat Jennings throughout the year.
“He's developed his game and improved massively across the year and after Joseph went back to West Ham in the summer, David was close to getting his chance.
“Unfortunately he hurt his ankle in training before our European game at home to CSKA Sofia and we signed Danny Rogers who did well for us too.
“David had to be patient. But he continued to train well and we were happy with how he did in the matches against Sligo and Shelbourne.
“He was also rewarded with his call-ups to the Ireland U21s and David has all of the attributes to be a top goalkeeper and we hope he can play a big part next year.”
Odumosu said of his new deal: “I've had a couple of good conversations with Tim Clancy about next season and I'm buzzing to get going."
Elsewhere, new Bray Wanderers head coach Ian Ryan has raided his old club Wexford for strikers Ger Shortt and Conor Davis.
Ollie Horgan is linked with the assistant manager’s role at Galway United having stepped down as Finn Harps boss after the season.
Harps are expected to appoint a new boss within the week and former League of Ireland defender Dave Rogers is a front runner.
Bohemians - who could consider a move for James Akintunde following his exit from Derry City - will continue their link-up with St Kevin’s Boys.
The famous schoolboy outfit joins Belvedere, Castleknock Celtic and Phoenix as academy affiliate partners.
