Ex-West Ham defender Glen Johnson reckons David Moyes will definitely be at West Ham next season amid rumours linking the Hammers boss with the Celtic job.
Moyes has been heavily linked with the vacant Celtic managerial position following the departure of Ange Postecoglou to Spurs.
The Aussie’s exit has resulted in a plethora of managers being linked with the job, ranging from former boss Brendan Rodgers to current Bodo/Glimt manager Kjetil Knutsen.
Moyes is among the favourites for the role and his future at West Ham could be decided tonight as they face Fiorentina in the UEFA Europa Conference League final in Prague.
However, Johnson believes Moyes will keep his job, regardless of whether the Hammer become the second ever Conference League champions or not.
Speaking to Neue Online Casinos, Johnson said: “I know Celtic have been linked, but David Moyes will definitely be there next season if West Ham win. Even if they don’t win the game, I think he’s earned enough respect to have a conversation about it. Obviously, he played a key role in getting them into a difficult situation, but he also played a big role in getting them out of it. If he walks off with a trophy and still in the Premier League, the fans would call it a successful season. If they lose though, I think he may still be fine.
“If he does win it, it would be a remarkable achievement due to how bad they were in the Premier League. They were nowhere near their high standards, but that will be forgotten if they win this game. He has the chance to become a big part of West Ham’s history.”
Previously mentioned Kjetil Knutsen is the current betting favourite to become the new Celtic manager at odds of 6/4.
The Norwegian has overseen a very successful period at the club just north of the Arctic Circle where he won the club their first-ever Eliteserien titles as well as historic European performances such as the clubs 6-1 demolition of Jose Mourinho’s Roma in last year's Conference League group stage.
He also claimed victories home and away against Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic side and could be a preferred candidate for fans and the club alike.
