David Moyes reveals why he asked Jurgen Klopp for advice before Liverpool game

West Ham United manager David Moyes has revealed that he spoke to Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp about playing against Sevilla before the two Premier League teams faced off on Saturday.

The Hammers will travel to play Europa League specialists Sevilla in Spain on Thursday evening in the last 16 round of the competition.

And having previously faced the Spaniards with Liverpool before, the views of Klopp on a tricky opponent were sought by Moyes, with Saturday's trip to Anfield providing the perfect opportunity.

As reported by football.london, Moyes said "I spoke to Jurgen before the game and he was very complimentary about our team and some of our players.

“I was asking Jurgen about Seville and he was telling me different things, I was trying to get some tips as he knows what it is like.”

Klopp knows all about the difficulties of facing the Sevillian side.

Under his management, Liverpool have face Sevilla three times and failed to win any of them.

A 3-1 defeat in the 2016 Europa League Final denied Klopp his first piece of silverware at Anfield.

That loss was followed by two draws against the Spaniards during the 2017/18 Champions League group stages.

Sevilla currently sit second in La Liga, eight points behind Real Madrid.

Liverpool will be looking to progress further in Europe themselves next week when they face Inter Milan at Anfield on Tuesday evening.

The Reds currently enjoy a 2-0 first leg lead after victory in the San Siro, but with no away goals rule this season, Klopp will still be mindful of possible Inter threat at Anfield.
