West Ham United manager David Moyes has strayed away from setting a definitive target to stay afloat in the Premier League this season, but knows more points are needed in order to seal survival.
The Hammers ’ 4-0 win away at Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon moved them six points clear of the Premier League’s relegation zone with just seven games remaining, although the rest of the bottom eight have just six going into a full midweek schedule of fixtures.
For West Ham, they enter a London Stadium meeting with Liverpool on Wednesday night hoping to continue their recent run of good form that has seen them lose just once in their last ten matches in all competitions.

Asked about what number of points West Ham need to reach to seal safety, currently sat on 34, Moyes did not set a definitive target but did say the more points his side pick up, the harder it will become for those below West Ham to claw back the gap on them.
“I don’t think it would be fair to say what we think [we need] to stay up, but we do feel that we’ve got to get more points than we’ve got at the moment, that is for sure,” said Moyes.
“We have to get more, then it means the teams below us have to get more as well. I think they are all aware of that. I think other results do matter at this time of the season, it doesn’t matter what anybody says.
“More importantly, you have to look after your own and if you win your own, you take care of your own business. Yes, we’ll be looking at all the other games like so many other teams will be as well.”
