West Ham United boss Davis Moyes has admitted that he rates Hammers centre-back Nayef Aguerd and Newcastle defender Sven Botman over Chelsea new boy Benoit Badiashile.
Both Botman and Aguerd joined the Premier League from Ligue 1 last summer, whilst Badiashile made the move from Monaco last month, impressing in his first few appearances in a Chelsea shirt. Now, Moyes has admitted that he rated the former two defenders as the best left-footed centre-backs in the French top-flight prior to their respective transfers, whilst also paying some homage to Badiashile's talent too.
Speaking after West Ham drew 1-1 with Newcastle, Moyes said: “In the opening four or five games of the season, we had no centre-halves with Craig Dawson injured, with Angelo Ogbonna not back from the cruciate (injury). We were really toiling at the start of the season.

“I’ve got to say I compare (Aguerd) a lot to Botman. Botman and Aguerd, I thought, were probably the two best left footed centre-backs in France.
“Obviously there’s the boy who has gone to Chelsea (Badiashile), and there’s a few others. But they (Botman and Aguerd) were in a similar category."
Despite side struggling for form in recent times, Badiashile has been a standout player since arriving in west London. In fact, the talented centre-half has registered a clean sheet in all three of his fixtures for the Blues, a hugely impressive record when you consider that he is still just 21.
