David Moyes hints at West Ham January transfer U-turn - ‘We still might be active’

David Moyes says West Ham are open to making new signings this month.

The club spent around £150m over the course of the summer and are yet to see much of a return, winning only four Premier League games all season.

As a result, Moyes is under pressure and has previously suggested the January window would be an understated affair following their significant summer spending.

Still, while the Scotsman has revealed there are no major plans to invest further, West Ham could still be active to potential opportunities.

The Hammers missed out on Kalvin Phillips last year and failed to sign Ola Aina during the summer, with cover still needed in both central midfield and at full-back.

Goals remain a problem too, although the prospect of West Ham spending big to land another attacking player this month seems somewhat far-fetched.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s trip to Brentford in the FA Cup, Moyes said: “We still might be active if we can.

"Ultimately, the club spent a lot in the summertime, ideally we’re not trying to bring in so many players.

"They’re still trying to get used to us ourselves but it depends on our situation."
