David Moyes gives West Ham transfer window hint after Swansea City loan decision

West Ham United manager David Moyes has not ruled out the possibility of the Hammers adding to their squad this month.

West Ham spent around £160m on initial fees for eight summer signings, including three deals of £30m or higher to bring midfielder Lucas Paqueta, striker Gianluca Scamacca and centre-back Nayef Aguerd to the club.

In recent weeks, Moyes has regularly said that is is highly unlikely that the club will be making any signings this month unless injuries tot up and force them to act.

However, speaking ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup trip to Brentford, Moyes has said that is not completely out of the question that West Ham add to their ranks this month.

“Not at all. We and the club are all well aware of it,” said Moyes when asked if he was frustrated at it likely being a quiet January for the club.

“We still might be active in the transfer market this January. We might try and do some business if we can. But ultimately, the club spent a lot in the summer time and we bought in a lot of players and ideally we're not trying to bring in so many players.

“We bought in a lot in the summer and we’re still trying to integrate them and get them used to the Premier League. They're still trying to get used to us ourselves but it depends on our situation.”

The comments come just hours after winger Armstrong Okoflex was recalled by West Ham after spending the first half of the season on loan at Championship side Swansea City.

Okoflex made 13 appearances for Swansea this season in the Championship but he made just one start. In August, Okoflex also featured as a substitute during the 3-0 second leg victory over Danish side Viborg in the Europa Conference League.
