West Ham United could be without a handful key of players for the Premier League clash with Newcastle United this weekend. The Hammers are set to take on Romanian side FCSB in the Europa Conference League this evening with David Moyes providing an injury update ahead of the fixture.
The 59-year-old claims tonight's game against FCSB will come too early for Gianluca Scamacca to start. The Hammers' summer arrival has missed the last two games with injury but could return to the action tonight, putting him back in contention to start against Newcastle.
Speaking to Football London, Moyes said: "He [Scamacca] only really started training so I'm going to work towards him getting back if we can. We hope to get him back but he's really not been well for ten days so if he's fully fit I'd be very surprised but certainly he trained today and he's getting closer to fitness.

The Hammers have a number of injury problems at the back with Ben Johnson, Aaron Cresswell and Nayef Aguerd all out of their game against FCSB. Craig Dawson returned to training this week to boost West Ham's back line.
"Craig Dawson started back training and you probably saw him today," Moyes said. "He's back out, he's not been out training long, he's still sort of finding his way back in but he's getting back in amongst it now.
"Ben Johnson is not training yet. He's still out. Aaron Cresswell is not training yet either so he's not available. Tomas Soucek had picked up a foot injury from the game at Chelsea.
"So Tomas could be a question mark for me. So that's what I've got at the moment."
When asked about Dawson starting in the Europa Conference League, Moyes said: "Probably not. He's probably not fit enough.
"I mean, he's probably missed the best part of six weeks of pre-season with the thigh strain so he's making his way back and we would like to get him back quickly if we can but I don't think I can get him back that quickly."
