Any time an NFL team installs a new offensive scheme, they might be a little mum on clarifying details. After all, someone — meaning a potential opponent — could always be watching, looking for an inside edge. Judging by a David Montgomery press conference to end Bears training camp, it seems Chicago falls into that camp of secrecy.
The Bears are, of course, installing a fresh offense with first-year offensive coordinator Luke Getsy. And after spending a few more weeks in the scheme, Montgomery was asked about his impressions of the playbook and what people can expect from the Bears’ new-look attack.
In a very clarifying answer, Montgomery hilariously explained that the Bears would either run or pass the ball this fall. Oh, and lest we forget, they will also play football. Big if true:

Incredible. I’m impressed at how Montgomery manages to more or less keep a straight face during his very serious answer. Which, let’s be clear — still technically answered the question!
The Bears will run and pass the ball during the 2022 season, perhaps even at a 50-50 rate. Or not. They could also throw the ball slightly more and vice versa. Beware NFL defensive coordinators. You probably still won’t see the Montgomery and the rest of the Monsters of the Midway coming.
NFL fans had lots of jokes about Montgomery's hilarious explanation of the Bears' offense
I love David Montgomery interviews. I always learn something. https://t.co/OwGurztjbd
