Livingston boss David Martindale is reportedly among the contenders to become manager at Fleetwood Town.
Town are on the hunt for a long-term option with former Celtic player Stephen Crainey currently in temporary charge until the end of the campaign, having taken over from Simon Grayson.
With the club retaining their League One status, The Daily Mail report that the Lions' boss Martindale is another name "under discussion" by the Fleetwood board.
However, the Scottish Premiership side state there has been no approach for the boss so far.
Scott Brown is also reportedly in the running for the hot seat as he looks to take his first steps into management.
The 36-year-old is a free agent after leaving his role as player and assistant manager at Aberdeen in March.
Fleetwood have previously taken a gamble on an inexperienced boss, with Joey Barton being handed his first role as boss at the club before Grayson took charge.
Fleetwood chairman Andy Pilley has stated he wants a boss with a proven record of developing young talent.
Pilley has said: "It has been a disappointing season.
"It has been a season riddled with bad luck and injuries and everything that could have gone wrong has gone wrong.
"I'm delighted we finished the right side of the line but, after careful thought, I do think the right thing to do is to appoint a different manager to get back to winning football games."
