David Luiz adds to Arsenal injury crisis in latest setback for Mikel Arteta

David Luiz limped out of Arsenal's FA Cup quarter-final at Sheffield United to become the latest addition to Mikel Arteta's growing injury list.

The Brazil international was replaced eight minutes into the second-half, pulling up with what appeared to be a hamstring injury while trying to shepherd the ball away from Blades striker David McGoldrick.

Luiz was back in the starting XI at Bramall Lane having served a suspension for a red card shown against Manchester City, Arsenal's first match back since the Premier League restart.

The defender recently signed a one-year contract extension at the Emirates, ending uncertainty over his future.

His previous deal was due to expire at the end of this month, has come under fire for his performances recently, but agreed fresh terms, joining Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari in signing extensions.

Arsenal are already without one centre-half in Pablo Mari who limped off in the defeat to City. The Spaniard will not play again this season.
