The folks at EA Sports don’t do face scans for every player in the NFL for Madden each year. That would be difficult to pull off, even if it would be a great way to accurately represent players in the game.
For those who don’t have their faces scanned, developers are forced to do their best to make a player look as much like himself as possible. Needless to say, they failed when it came to David Long Jr.
The Rams cornerback shared a photo of himself in Madden 23 and, well, it looks nothing like him. The only thing they got right was his number. Not even his hair was close to accurate.

Long may not be the biggest name in the league, but it shouldn’t be that hard to get a little closer than this. Maybe now that Long brought it to EA’s attention, the developers and designers will make the fix.
