David Leitch is set to team up with Amazon MGM for a new heist action thriller.
The 49-year-old filmmaker - who helmed the 2022 action comedy flick 'Bullet Train' - and his 47-year-old producer wife Kelly McCormick will make the untitled movie under their 87North production company, which oversaw the recent movie 'Love Hurts' that starred Ke Huy Quan.
'Apollo 13' producer Brian Grazer, Jeb Brody and 'No One Will Save You' creator Allan Mandelbaum from Imagine Entertainment are also on board for the project.
Although plot details of the new film are under wraps, a source told The Hollywood Reporter that the script has been penned by Mark Bianculli, who is best known for writing and producing the drama series 'Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector,' for NBC in 2020.
An insider claimed to the publication that the movie's story "centers on a group of savvy bank robbers that use social media to document their heists, playing a cat and mouse game with police".
They added that Mark and Imagine Entertainment have been working on the project for a decade.
The report comes as David, who is also known for directing the 2024 action comedy 'The Fall Guy', which starred Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, is in talks to direct 'Ocean's 14'.
George Clooney and Brad Pitt are expected to reunite for the flick.
The InSneider’s Jeff Sneider has intel that Brad's 'Bullet Train' director could take over from Steven Soderbergh - who helmed the original trilogy but will not be returning for the new picture.
George revealed last year that another 'Ocean's' flick could be on the way as he had a "great script".
He told Uproxx: "We have a really good script for another 'Ocean's' now, so we could end up doing another one. It's actually a great script."
Asked if the new movie would be titled 'Ocean's 14', George replied: "Well... I don't want to call it that... I mean, the idea is kind of like 'Going in Style'."
The original trilogy began with 'Ocean's 11' in 2001 with sequels 'Ocean's Twelve' and 'Ocean's Thirteen' following in 2004 and 2007, respectively, but Soderbergh previously revealed that he considered his work on the franchise to be complete.
The 'Traffic' director told Variety: "After we made the third movie, I felt like the series was very much concluded for me.
"When the studio approached me to see if I'd be involved in continuing the franchise, I told them no, because it just doesn't feel like a move forward for me.
"I'm chasing something else."
