Former Nottingham Forest striker David Johnson has sent Reds fans a message of encouragement after his son scored in a 2-1 victory over Derby County at the City Ground.
The Reds have retained the Brian Clough Trophy for at least a few months after goals from Lewis Grabban and Brennan Johnson downed Wayne Rooney's side on Trentside.
Grabban opened the scoring early in the second-half as he pounced on a loose ball to lash past visiting 'keeper Ryan Allsop.
The Reds doubled their lead eight minutes before full-time when Johnson started an attacking move on the half-way line before driving forwards to finish the move himself by scoring.
Tom Lawrence's penalty strike on 88 minutes set-up a nervy finish after Steve Cook committed a foul inside the area, but Steve Cooper's side held on to win all three points and pile further misery onto Derby County.
David Johnson, who won just one of his five encounters against Derby as a Forest player, tweeted at full-time: "Have a great weekend. See you on Tuesday."
Brennan Johnson scored in Forest's 1-1 draw with Derby in the fifth game of the Championship season and has been a key part of the Reds' form this season.
The victory - Forest's third in a row in all competitions - means Steve Cooper's side are now just three points adrift of the play-offs ahead of the rest of weekend's fixtures.
