David James believes Liverpool attacker Fabio Carvalho could one day play for England after reportedly considering switching his international allegiance back to the Three Lions.
Carvalho represented England at youth level, but since switched to Portugal and was a key member of their Under-21 squad until recently when he decided to pull out.
Speculation has now surfaced over the international future of the 20-year-old and the former Liverpool goalkeeper James believes Carvalho has the potential to play for England.

Carvalho, who represented England 29 times at youth level, completed a move to Liverpool in the summer fresh from helping Fulham win promotion back to the Premier League.
James spoke to GGRecon about the Reds star: "Yes. He’s a very exciting young player. Using Aaron Ramsdale as an example, I know that Matt Turner has been playing for them in the Europa League, but he’s a player that’s involved in European competition and he’s expected to compete in it for the next few seasons the way that Arsenal are going.
“He, like Fabio Carvalho, is a player that’s going to benefit from playing against the best teams in world football on a more regular basis.
“If Gareth Southgate has players available to him who are playing at that high a level, then you’d argue that they can only improve the value of the squad.”
